Tata to hire 1500 engineers for its UK Jaguar plant

TATA's Jaguar Land Rover, come with good news as the company has started recruiting for new posts.

It has already announced 1500 new UK posts. But three times that number may be needed if the company's strategy goes to plan, The Telegraph reports.

During recession, JLR was set to close one of its three UK manufacturing plants. That has now been shelved.

The company says, it has received 13,000 applications for 1,500 new jobs.

The latest, smallest and most fuel-efficient Range Rover will be built at the Halewood plant on Merseyside.

Ratan Tata's initial doodle was to rebuild a car around a "scooter so that those using it could travel safer", says Noronha and colleagues in the book.

Christabelle Noronha, who co-authored the book with Philip Chacko and Sujata Agarwal, says: "The Nano has been and remains essentially a product of Ratan Tata's imagination and his desire to recast the car as a means of affordable personal obility for middle class India". "We had a strong feeling that the Nano story needed to be chronicled - that the story would be something that ordinary readers would be keen to know and understand," Noronha told IANS.

Tata Motors unveiled their first crossover in India named Tata Aria. A crossover is a type of vehicle which blends together all the strong points of a SUV, a sedan and a MUV in one package.
The new Tata Aria is based on the new-generation Tata platform, and is powered by a 2.2 Liter Direct Injection Common Rail (DICOR) which gives an output of 140Bhp.
